The Carrollton Fair is held on the 3rd Saturday of October at the Square, in Old Downtown. The Fair has been a part of Carrollton history since 1973 when the Mayor suggested that a small group of volunteers be brought together to raise money for our city's Bi-Centennial celebration. From that suggestion and with the efforts of a few volunteers the Carrollton Country Fair was born.
The Fair has grown from its modest inception and draws thousands of visitors each year. However, the organization's commitment to continue the tradition of old fashioned fun for the entire family, while giving back to our community, remains the same.
Funds are raised through membership dues, sponsors and booth rentals. A portion of the proceeds from the Carrollton Fair is distributed to non-profit organizations, such as the Metrocrest Social Services and Senior Adult Services, slated for yearly contributions due to their record of actively serving the Metroplex residents.
The other portion of the proceeds is given in the form of a scholarship to a graduating student from each of the local high schools. School officials nominate each of the candidates.
For over the past twenty years the Carrollton Fair Association has distributed thousands of dollars to non-profit agencies and scholarships to students.
The Carrollton Fair Association is a non-profit organization composed of a small group of dedicated individuals who volunteer their time and talents.
